While she'd formed a strong alliance, and it meant that all cats who stayed here were under her control, she knew as well as any other cat what the other alliance was plotting from those valleys. They'd certainly made themselves clear over the last few moons, with attacks on Ripplewater's territory. She didn't know about the other alliances, but she had a sneaking suspicion that they'd had the same deal. Now, she'd have to address her allies, and tell them the plan she'd agonized over. "Ripplewater! Listen up!" She jumped atop one of the many mossy rocks, ensuring her call would be heard. The first cat to emerge from a den was a fluffy white she-cat. Raindrop - a new ally of Ripplewater, coming over from Nightview, but an ally nonetheless. Raindrop looked curiously up at the leader of the alliance. Fey didn't hold meetings often, at least in the time since she joined, so she wondered what this was for. The attacks?

The red tabby quite quickly pieced together the reason Fey had called a meeting; from his experience, Ripplewater's leader rarely called such meetings, and when she did they were usually to address something big. And what could be bigger at the moment than the attacks on their alliance?"This is about the attacks, right?" Mel murmured, taking a seat besides a new ally, Raindrop, and turning his copper eyes to Fey, waiting for her to continue. He was ready to follow his leader whever she may take them, and perhaps throw in some suggestions by way of battle strategy if he felt that was needed.--- --- --- ---ooc: || tags: Fey

"As you all know, we've suffered the effects of Terrainia's attacks over the last few moons. I'm proud of you for fighting back, because we won. Duh." Allowing for a pause, the grey cat continued. "But that's not why I've called this meeting. We now know how much of a threat these cats from the valleys are, and we're going to have to be prepared. I remember their leader's last words as we chased them off - 'we'll be back.' And I don't think they're the kind of cats to give up easily." She cleared her throat. "Which is why I propose my plan. We know they will attack. We've got to be alert, and we're going to monitor as much as we can. Maybe we can find patterns in their behavior. We will be ready to defend, but we will not attack them unless necessary, at this stage. The alliance of Skypoint is the nearest to the valleys, and if we are desperate...well, we'll see if they could be interested in a temporary truce, for coordinated attacks. But only if necessary. Any questions, comments or concerns?"

He tended to close his eyes when he needed to focus, but to those observing him he might look like he was dozing. So far, his leader's plan seemed sound to him. It made sense not to rush into things, and that wasn't just his laid-back nature talking. However, he did have a question. "Why wouldn't we find an alliance with Skypoint now?" Melrose queried, tilting his head slightly and opening his eyes. He wanted to know Fey's reasons, but he would still obey her regardless of her answer. After all, the leader's word is law.--- --- --- ---ooc: || tags: Fey

Unnecessary truces could be taken as a sign of weakness, and we don't want to look desperate. Ripplewater is strong on our own." Fey's face remained serious as she talked. While she would listen to her allies, she wouldn't let them override her.

He had had no other motives in asking the question than simply curiosity. Then, an thought occured to him, and he asked, "Would you want a patrol to go out now?" "Mel, Raindrop - I would like you to patrol the river. I am entrusting you with the safety of the alliance. Don't make me lose that trust."Raindrop nodded. "I won't let you down." She turned to Melrose. "Should we head off?"
